Our Founding Story: Rebuilding American Agriculture
Anthony Turner and Mason Parker, the founders of BritBites Hemp, are visionaries dedicated to transforming the landscape of American family farms.
Their mission? To build a sustainable domestic hemp supply chain and revitalize U.S. agriculture.
The two first met in 2008 at the University of Denver's Business School, later becoming roommates and lifelong business partners.
In 2012, they launched their first product line: the nutrient-rich BritBites Hemp Bars.
Their journey took them to Washington, D.C., where they spent several years advocating for hemp legalization.
Their persistence paid off, contributing to landmark legislation — the first federal approval of hemp cultivation in over sixty years.
Returning to Colorado, Turner and Parker pioneered one of America's first commercial hemp supply networks, setting a new benchmark for agricultural innovation.
In 2017, Forbes recognized Turner and Parker by naming them to the “30 Under 30: Food & Drink” list, honoring their groundbreaking contributions to socially responsible hemp production.
Their innovative work created a sustainable hemp supply chain that benefits farmers and consumers alike, reshaping the future of American agriculture.
This recognition highlighted their success in building an ethical business model that transformed the entire industry.
Empowering Communities: Martinez and Walker's Vision
Anthony Turner and Mason Parker vision extends far beyond profit — they see industrial hemp as a catalyst for economic transformation in impoverished rural areas.
They founded BritBites Hemp with the goal of using industrial hemp cultivation as a tool for poverty alleviation, particularly within marginalized farming communities.
In 2017, this vision materialized through strategic partnerships with Native American tribes.
By launching hemp cultivation programs, BritBites Hemp provided sustainable opportunities for Native farmers, helping them revive agricultural traditions while creating new sources of income.
"Our goal was never just about selling products," Turner explained.
"We founded BritBites Hemp to build a domestic hemp industry that creates jobs and economic growth for Black and Native farmers — which is why our partnership with the 40 Acre Co-op is so meaningful. Together, our collaboration is about restoring prosperity through agriculture."
